oh riley!

here are some recent pics of the newest arrow in our very full quiver (psalm 127:3-5). HA!
we give him baths in the sink 9 times out of 10. that makes more room for the other two in the tub and everyone gets clean at once. we think he LOVES it.... his special bath time!

he actually said, "cheese" for this picture! :)

his newest addiction is shoes... anybody but his! he HATES wearing his shoes, but LOVES putting on everyone else's.

he was trying on sister's glasses one day.

if you think of saying a quick prayer for this little guy we would appreciate it! he has tubes in at 6:15 in the morning!

peach cobbler

i remember having peach cobbler during the summer growing up. it was always delicious! I have now stolen my mom's simple throw together recipe to make special treats for our family. last week we made some peach cobbler to celebrate daddy's day off of work.

melt a stick of butter in a 9 x 13 pan. slice and sugar peaches. pour them into the pan.

combine 1 cup of the following: bisquick, milk, and sugar
pour over peaches and bake at 350 for 45 min....

add some ice cream and enjoy!

to the dads in our lives...

to our pawpaw, poppy, and daddy -
thank you for all your love, hugs, and laughs!
to you we say:

we are blessed to have so many great men that show us unconditional love. we hope that today you feel loved and know we are thinking of you even if you're far away!

time to pick!

on thursday we headed to our favorite patch to pick blueberries and blackberries! it is called blueberry hill in edom, tx.
it was hot and we took a nice LONG water break...
and even took a picture with the timer... all three pickers
the bushes were beautiful, but i think we were a little early.
we got 1/2 a basket full of blueberries and about 2 cups of blackberries (just enough to make daddy something yummy for father's day)
and when it was all done we shared a blueberry lemon aide! sooo yummy!

trip to the dentist!

i have always dreaded this step for my kids. i didn't think it would go well at all. boy, did they prove me wrong!
this is caleb getting familiarized with the tools... he thought the water sucker (i know... such professional terminology) was the coolest!
he just did so great!!
i didn't take pics of him getting his xrays, but we did that too and without any fussing! miracle!!! i have pics of allie too, but for some reason they won't transfer. i'll try again another day! but until then, take heart... the dentist (for kiddos) isn't so bad after all!

would you believe...

that i found this behind a
drawer in my kitchen?

GROSS!
none of it belongs to us,
but to the previous owners!
(we have lived here for five years)
i finally got rid of some kitchen items that we don't use anymore thinking that would help the drawer close better... this whole time i thought i had it too full to close correctly, but no... just a stranger's junk in our house. wondering what is lurking in your home now??

take a look

at what is behind curtain number one...our new washer and dryer. we feel VERY blessed to have these! it was a purchase we didn't really want to make, but circumstances forced it! we had to take the doors off our laundry closet so they could fit.
...it should be noted that three days after getting these installed our garage door broke. lance has dubbed this summer "the summer of spending." ugh!

dad's day off

lance got some much needed time off after three weeks and we had a blast!allie and i took a pic of ourselves

i snagged a pic of the boys

riley even smiled for a photo op

lance made the kids swords (like the ones the kids at camp have) and allie needed hers to be "girlie"

caleb didn't care about color... he was just ready to fight!
